January 28, 2007 (49:15)

Welcome to another season of the Bloggers Hotstove. In our first regular edition of the winter we look at the "Indian joke" that MP Colin Hayes said was good, we discuss the Conservative "attack ads", bat around the politics of the Maher Arar settlement, have complete agreement that Stephane Dion stepped in it by saying that he saw no reason not to let Adscam members back in the party and what is Jack Layton up to with ATM fees.
Joining me to discuss these issues were Scott Tribe, James Bow and Mike Park.

Yeah, I’m as surprised as the rest of you, but I feel strongly that when people in government get it right, especially when the government is held by a party you often find yourself at odds with, you should give... [Read More]

Greg:

When I click on your link, its actually trying to download the file rather then just allow me to stream it over the net.. is that on your end it would be doing that, or mine? (I’m using Firefox for my browser)

I don’t think you can stream it. You can listen as it downloads but I am pretty sure it puts it in your cache to do that. If you have any suggestions as to how to change that I would love to here them.

Actually, yes I can.. I checked in my config file on how Firefox handles certain files. It was pointing at Quicktime.. but it was using the wrong location.. so when it couldnt find it, i began downloading the file.

Once I told Firefox to use Quicktime (and pointing to it where Quicktime correctly was), it loaded up Quicktime and began streaming the file so that I could listen to it as it downloaded.

By the way Greg, I’ve found that if you play this thing in RealAudio, you can pump up the volume a lot higher then on Quicktime, and you can make out what Mike and James say clearly.

heh heh - like the joke.

Thanks CG, I never know how they will come off. Apparently the intro has turned into my monologue with this weeks joke and last episodes Wajid Khan impression.

I hate to keep droning on about this.. but apparently if you play the file in Realaudio, it cuts 5 mins off from the program (44:34 is when it ends).. but, what you can do is turn the volume up in Realaudio, close the program, reopen the stream in Quicktime, and the volume will stay up in Quicktime when you listen to it.
